OS X comes with versions of Helvetica and Helvetica Neue as standard: in fact, they cannot easily be disabled as they are required by the system. Post Edited (timf) : 12:17:42 PM (GMT-5)įinale doesn't install Helvetica: it's just a question of whether you have the fonts on your machine, regardless of Finale. Thank you in advance for your input and advice!Ģ011c.r1, MacBook Pro 2.66 Ghz, i7 OS 10.6.8 (Also, I did install the Finale font update, but it didn't seem to help.) Should I just make that my default font? Will that mess up my old work? When I open my old work and the font is "65 Helvetica Medium," should I just change it to Helvetica Neue Medium? Or is there a better solution? I do see "Helvetica Neue medium" on the font list.

The text reappears after quitting and restarting Finale. And in Finale, it appears in italics in the font list, along with "(missing)." Strangely - or perhaps not strangely - I can still work with the font on the screen and save and print, but sometimes all the text disappears when I select the Page Layout Tool. Jumping to today - though I've transferred all my old computer's info to the new one, "Helvetica Medium 65" doesn't appear on my new computer. My designer gave me Helvetica fonts to install on my computer years ago on disc which I still have. My default font has been "Helvetica Medium 65" or "65 Helvetica Medium" for quite a while. I've have been having some weird disappearing text and missing font issues since switching to a new computer and an updated Finale.
